Ellantus

Ellantus, the city of new beginnings. Situated around the North Pylon it was the first city built on the sphere. Beyond the borders, Ellantus is a beacon of hope to the survival of man-kind providing freedom and celebration of life. To those who look past the borders see a society built upon broken promises. Those forced to work in the shadows serving a false master, festivities masking the constant need to bear a child and reminding citizens freedom does not exist. Yet there are those that find peace within the chains that bind them.

General Information

In the early design stages for Project Lupos, Aeson Corp planned to have to identical citadels at the North and South most point of the world. These would act as central hubs for Lupos when visitors come. On the rest of the sphere would be smaller cities for those living on Lupos. After the disaster back on Earth, the plans for the citadels were scrapped, not only did they require a higher population but also relied on the completion of the terraforming machine. Throughout the years on the ship members of Aeson Corp spent a lot of their time redesigning the city around the North Pylon alongside the plans they had for the hierarchy system. Part of the hierarchy was the currency, citizens living in the citadel would pay for gas, electricity, food etc. with credits. Credits were based on the type of job and the number of hours you work. It was put in place to keep those working on the necessary jobs with the threat of being sent to the industrial district. Those working and living at the South Pylon / Vellon do not use the same rules as the citadel. The Residential Garden district is where Aeson Corp members reside also referred to as ‘Highbornes’ by the citizens, it’s off limits to anyone not part of the group. The reason behind the nickname highbornes is due to the fact they act like they are above everyone else.

The Market District is where most of the citizen lives, here are where festivals and markets happen every other day. All other major buildings are also located here.

The final area in the city is the industrial district, this is where the ‘slaves’ or those deemed unfit to work on the ‘more advanced jobs’ reside. It’s mainly full of factories where items are made, sewage is filtered, and energy is distributed to homes. There is no official housing so the majority of those living here have made makeshift housing or sleep in the factories they are not allowed to leave this area.

A curfew was put in place to allow the ‘slaves’ to leave the industrial area and work in the restricted zones when maintenance and repairs were needed. Even though the borders are guarded it’s still possible to sneak into the market district.

Residents cannot leave the citadel partly because of when they were creating the North Pylon and South Pylon they decided to build upon the artificial soil. It was designed to be on top of a giant hill to prevent people from trying to leave despite the fact there were no other nearby land masses on Lupos. The citadel was created to house a much larger population than the number of residents that arrived on Lupos, over time the city of Ellantus has expanded with more land mass being added.

If you exit the citadel facing South, then you will find the only way off Ellantus. At the end of the bridge is a platform where the ship docks when it’s not out collecting resources. To get to the surface of the sphere from here is a long ladder at the edge of the platform, this is never used. Those who have attempted to flee Ellantus have been met with heavy resistance as the bridge is well guarded.
